The German team exploring London… and meeting the Queen of England

5am in the morning and 6 students and 3 teachers are already on their way to England for an exciting week for our project. After arriving at London Heathrow we got a quick breakfast and then started an exciting day by taking the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station.

From there we went to the Buckingham Palace. Today is Remembrance Day in England and thousands of people were on their way to the Buckingham Palace… We had a front row place at the fence, directly next to the entrance to the Palace.

What happened next was amazing and will never be forgotten:

The big door opened and a dark red Bentley came across us, with the Queen and her husband on the backseat. Everyone got out his/her phone as fast as possible to take the best picture…
And not enough: a few minutes later the Bentley came back and was even closer!! Only about 5 meters away from us!!

After being so close to this famous couple, everyone from our German team was so excited and happy.. even walking across the Big Ben and the Westminster Abbey could not stop us from talking about what just happened…

But finally, our tour in the London Eye could calm us down a bit and we could enjoy the amazing view from the top of the world-famous ferris wheel. After having lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe we decided to end our day in London in the Carnaby Street to do some shopping before leaving to Bath.

Right on time we arrived in Bath (although we left the train one station too early). Thanks to all host families for this warm welcome!!!
We are all looking forward to having a great week together and working on a great project result ??
