German Week – Day 1

After arriving yesterday at the Hannover Airport and the first evening together with the host families, we startet early today. We met at the Ludwig-Windthorst-Schule in the main entrance hall and got a warm welcome by the principle Heike Braun.
After getting to know each other with little games, we had some presentations in the school´s computer room. We learned a lot about Hannover, Hamburg and Soccer / Handball in Germany. After having a short break, the German students prepared a little tour around the Ludwig-Windthorst-Schule and showed everyone around. While having a look at all different classrooms, the German teacher Uta Langner prepared the sports hall for the “German Parcours”. Every team could experience the difficulties of this parcours for the first time and hopefully everyone is ready for the big challenge on Friday 🙂
Right after being sporty, everyone was ready to experience the HDI Arena of Hannover 96. We had two very nice and lovely guys showing us around! We got to know details about working there, the architecture, how it feels like being a professional soccer player and how the Arena is funded and where all players, trainers and workers get their money from.
It was a very interesting tour and all of us loved it. Who else can sit in the guests´ changing room and imagine being an international soccer star, ready to give everything for the own team in front of almost 40000 people?
