Designing flags for Finland

After finishing the evaluation of our shopping tour (two weeks ago), Team Germany was ready for some creative activity. We started to design the flags for Finland and groups of two or three students were working on one flag. We did a lot of talking about the upcoming trip to Finland (thanks to Finland´s great work so far our six Finland travelers were even able to get to know the names of their host students!). All students travelling to Finland  will write an e-mail to their future host families during the next week, so they will be ready before Easter[…]

The workout and the cookie…

Today, we are back in the classroom. The shopping from our last week´s trip to a supermarket around the corner is eaten and we started to write reports about it. How many (and what) products did we find? What are we missing in such a local store? What did I learn for my future shopping habits? Besides writing on some evaluation, we were ready for an experiment. Inspired by this video (Link to Youtube) we wanted to find out, how much workout we have to do to work off a chocolate cookie. First, we needed some cookies and Mrs. Lampe[…]

Going shopping in Germany..

Erasmus time again 🙂 but not in the classroom (as usual), but in a supermarket around the corner. What kind of fairtrade products in an environmentally friendly packaging products can you find in a local supermarket chain? We tried it out and went to a local Aldi store. And, what a surprise, we found several different things that could pass our strict restrictions. We said NO to: sweet drinks, candy, products from Nestlé, gelantine, plastic wrappings We said YES to: glass bottles, whole grain products, fair trade products, biologically grown fruit, candy without gelantine (from mass anima husbandry).. Look for[…]

Transnational meeting in Germany

Finally, our first meeting in 2018!!! After arriving at the airport on Sunday January 28th, all teachers from England, Finland and Norway came together the next morning. Before going back to work, our German students guided the teachers through their school and showed them all classrooms and nice places to go. The weather outside was stormy but we were all in good mood and ready to work together again, discussing our week in England in November and planning the forthcoming trip to Finland in May. With the help of a lot of cookies and coffee we had a productive and[…]

Advertising our Erasmus+ team in Germany!

Last wednesday, the German team was holding some presentations about some details of our trip to Bath: we had 3 groups presenting trampoline jumping, healthy nutrition and St. Greg´s ball. What did our students learn about these 3 topics? Is there anything they did not know before? Did they remember some recipes from the chef who was cooking for us at St. Gregory´s? Did they learn anything new about trampoline jumping? YES THEY DID! For example, they remembered so many details about the safety instructions at the Flip Out Trampoline Park, what they we were allowed to do and what[…]
