Day 4: Visiting Kristiansund

Today, the bus took us to Kristiansund, a small town about 100km away from Kyrksæterøra and we had to take a ferry boat on our way there. Just after arriving we went on a little hike to a tower above the city with a great view of Kristiansund and the surrounding landscape with the stormy Atlantic Ocean. While some of our group got a lot closer to the Atlantic by walking all the way down, the other group went to a shopping center nearby. After lunch, we all met again at Atlanterhavsbadet for some sporty activities like swimming, jumping and riding on[…]

Day 3: Riding a horse and learning a lot about farming and forestry

Right after arriving at school a bus took us to Witsø hestesportsenter. After a short ride our Erasmus+ team has been splitted into two groups: one group started with preparing the horses and the riding lessons, the other group learned some new skills: walking with walking stalks, throwing the lasso and walking and hiking through a forest with lots of things to eat, see, feel, smell and discover! After a great healthy lunch, the groups changed and everyone had an awesome adventurous day at the horse riding center.

Day 2: Getting to know each other at school

The first day began with a nice meeting at Sodin Skole that has been interrupted by a fire alarm (a false alarm, fortunately)… we got to know each other and took a nice tour around the school. Joining the MOT lesson was very interesting and something we would love to have (and teach) in Germany! Our students said it felt good to be encouraged to stand up for his/her own opinion and listening to themselves. Being courageous enough to make own decision is something that helps being confident for your own future! After having delicious lunch (prepared by our Norwegian[…]

Day 1: Travelling from Hannover to Kyrksæterøra

Meeting at 4.30 at the airport means: getting up early! But everyone from our group did it on time and we were ready to fly over Amsterdam to Trondheim. After waiting for 90 minutes at the KLM counter, we almost missed our flight. But thanks to reserved seats we could make it and the flight to Amsterdam was easy to handle. Before flying into Trondheim, it got a little bumpy but we are still alive 😉 after meeting the Erasmus+ team from Finland, we shared a minibus to Kyrksæterøra, where our host families were already waiting for us.. the first hours[…]

Final day in Finland: Returning back to Germany

Last morning in sunny Finland, and the sun was shining so bright, we hardly could think about entering the plane to Munich (and then another plane to Hannover)… But as the luggage was packed and every piece of it was not too heavy, Team Germany took a nice bus back to Helsinki Airport. Just after arriving at the wrong terminal, we easily found the right one within close walking distance: fortunately, the airport is not too big and well structured: we found the Lufthansa gate and got rid of our luggage soon to have enough time for a tasty (and[…]

Day 6: Battle Ball Tournament und Evening Gala

Today was the big day! The grand finale of the week: the battle ball tournament and the evening gala. After arriving at school, the students joined their hosts for coding a computer game! The perfectly equipped computer room in the Iittalan Yhtenäiskoulu has 20 computers to offer and the students loved to learn the basics of coding a game! They learned a lot about modern technology, they even had to use their smartphones.. The teachers were right next to the students´ room and had a meeting about the upcoming project elements: we will be in Norway in 4 months and[…]

Day 5 – Ready for a real adventure today!

We started very early at school today to start our big adventure in the forest. We went by bus to Evo, a little village that mostly consists of a nature park. Our Erasmus+ team was split into two groups, one group started with an amazing paddling tour through the lakes while the other group started with a hiking tour through the old forest with trees of 150 years of age and even older. After lunch, the two groups changed and the second group was allowed to go paddling. We got a lot of information about the nature, beaver habitats and[…]
