After the exciting first night in the host families‘ houses, all our students arrived at school… excited and curious about what the first day will be like:
We started with a warm welcome and everyone introduced himself/herself.
After that we had a meeting with all students of the Iittalan Yhtenäiskoulu in the sports hall. Very impressive!
In addition to that, we got to know our school much better with a little guided tour through the buildings, which ended in the school‘s sports hall with some exciting sports: the whole Erasmus team was splitted in three different groups. The first group started with bubble ball, the second team tried out the huge and tall climbing wall while the third group was playing battle ball. This is a new kind of sports our finnish team invented in advance..
We had a lot of fun and a very tasty lunch at school.. we like the idea that every student has to take off shoes before entering the classroom!
At around 3pm in the afternoon we visited the Iittala glass factory and the awesome chocolate factory next to it (and in close walking distance to our school). Our first day ende and all students went home to their host families. What a great start into a sunny and warm Erasmus+ week!
